It was announced today that The Mars Volta’s new album will be titled Octahedron and will be released on June 19, 2009.

It will have 8 songs (not surprisingly) and Jeff Jordan is doing the album art again.

We’re just grooving to the forthcoming Mars Volta CD. They’ve ditched the fusion of Bedlam In Goliath and returned to prog wholeheartedly

This means two things.  First of all, it will probably be more similar to TMV’s earlier music.  Second, this means that there are people who already have Octahedron, which in turn means that there may be a leak soon.

I was just recently turned on this new show on HBO called East Bound and Down. It stars Danny McBride (better known as Red from Pineapple Express) and it is produced by Will Ferrell and Adam Mckay. The show is about a fictional character named Kenny Powers who was once an all star pitcher in the Major League but ended up losing his pitch and throwing his career away.

Without going into too many details… this show is just super funny. It has relatively dry humor but it is done really well. Anyway, if you don’t have HBO I am sure you could either torrent it or find it somewhere online and I would recommend doing so as it is seriously really funny.

Youtube was sort of lacking in good clips, but here is one just for the hell of it.

My birthday is only five days away, and logic dictates that a GIT of epic proportions is imminent as well.  We will be having it at my house the day after my birthday, on Saturday, March 21.  Every RB is welcome of course (including you Belmont), so I hope to see as many of you there as possible.
