Windows 7

Well my computer completely took a crap on me last week and honestly I was sick of reinstalling Windows XP. Vista was horrible for gaming since I only have 2gb of RAM so I decided to try Windows 7. So far it is up to par with XP’s speed for multi-tasking and gaming with a little more security. For everyone who has been holding out on upgrading due to Vista not being up to par, this may be an alternative. Here’s a detailed comparison between XP, Vista, and Windows 7 in which Windows 7 scored  better then XP on almost every test. While Win7 never scored less then XP, Vista was outdone in pretty much every test by not only Windows 7 but XP as well. Scores are at the bottom of each page.

The Old Republic

This came out yesterday. As far as I know it’s the first look at some of “The Old Republic’s” gameplay. After seeing this I’m even more excited about the game. I suggest watching all four parts. I believe part 3 is where they show some of the Sith gameplay, so if you’re just skipping through it check that out. From what I can tell Bioware has lived up to their word and made this a very story driven game. That, however, complicates online play. I’m interested in seeing how they make playing through a game long story arc work in multiplayer.

On a side note, go see Inglorious Basterds. It was absolutely amazing.

World of Ultimacraft!

I recently checked on an old guild I used to play against on WoW and discovered they have started a private PvP server that is fully pvp.   You can build private houses, guild cities, (all of which are siegable), have full on ultima style pvp with player looting, and guild battles.  Guilds can have either horde or alliance in them and inter faction fighting is possible.  The game is totally player oriented and all the changes are made by you the players since its run by the players.

The best part about it is ITS FREE!

With summer starting to wind down and school approaching I’ve been looking for a good game to play and this seems like it could be it.   Go here, register and download the client.  Again, its totally free and just needs more people to start playing for this to really get off the ground.   Maybe an RB guild?   Let me know what you think and if I should start signing on expecting some familiar names to come up.

Hey, my punk band Slaves to the Pavement is playing their first show at Floyd’s in Lincoln Park on August 25th. I want everyone of the RB’s there, too, damnit. So, bring everyone you know and everyone they know. It should be a cool/A+ time. AND, Joey from the Real World Cancun will be there with his band Late Nite Wars. Don’t believe me? Kiss my ass, then check the flyer on our myspace ya dummy. Be there or be weird! It’s gonna be a cool time. No age limit. Drink if you have money. Justin Pullum is running the bar. He likes you. And, anyway, who doesn’t want to see a celebrity?!

P.S. If you need directions, get a hold of me. Or google it. Or google me.

Whatever Happened To “Seperation of Church and State?”

The Free Money Movement is quite a small movement in fact, however it has potential. Patrons are using sharpie to cross the word “God” out of the phrase “In God We Trust,” that which appears on US legal tender. I personally see this as a pretty clever idea, and something that should have been addressed a long time ago seeing as how federal endorsement of a deity or religion violates the United States Constitution. Just thought you’d like to know.
