So, apparently when I drink I take things, and now I am the proud new owner of this lovely tuxedo t-shirt (which I found in Ypsi the other night at whoever’s house that was). Do I feel guilty? I might…if I didn’t look so damn good in it!

TSES Excerpt

Sargent House just posted a new excerpt (2:45 minutes) from The Sentimental Engine Slayer, which you can check out here.  Cathy said that it will probably be released on DVD sometime this year (despite what happens at the film festival next month).  Also, the artwork has been finalized for La Ciencia de los Inutiles (the new acoustic trio album), so that should be getting released any day now.  I’ll keep you updated.

In lack of time and as a last minute scramble to post something on time, I decided to post about a day I thought I’d never see ( until I was at least 30+ ) in my youth life. Ladies and gentleman, I have today converted my body and spirit from and Lad to a Man. I have done this by purchasing a vehicle. Mind you, it’s an ‘Merican vehicle and that has nothing to do with my conversion, yet this calls for utter celebration. I would like to celebrate by having a party at my homestead this weekend. Friends, family, non-alcoholics, and alcoholics all invited. You can take pictures with this beauty, you can look inside it’s un-tinted windows, you can even get inside for a few minutes on this joyous day as it will be the most joyous for me, and hopefully you as well.

Here are the specs:

Lvl: 1998

Class: Sable

Exp: 128k

Gear: A/C, CD player (with AUX input-for mp3), left AND right blinkers, glove compartment, tan interior. The works.

Gold: $1750

P.S. now I can attend RB events such as OG and Old Chicago and shit.

A Little Late…

As you probably saw in the shoutbox, Cathy from Sargent House posted this on her twitter:

Wow, it’s been like a month since the last Omar Rodriguez Lopez album, sounds like it’s time to launch the next one.Get ready @orlproductions

This will most likely be the “acoustic trio” album that has been talked about, which Cathy said before would be the next Omar release.  Hopefully this means she has received the master/artwork, which means it’ll probably be released any day now.

Also, we’ve added five new songs (one new since my post in the shoutbox) to the Metempsychosis myspace, including a cover of a song from FF7.

In an effort to get the ball rolling once again on RB, we’ve decided to assign a person to post on each day of the week.  Here is the tentative schedule:

  • Sunday - Nacho Supreme
  • Monday - Christ Hollywood
  • Tuesday - Skank
  • Wednesday - Leetster
  • Thursday - General Tso
  • Friday - You.
  • Saturday - Mataxia

Alex, you still need to confirm so just let me know whenever.  Nick, I haven’t asked you about it but I figured you’re one of the people who posts often/good posts so you would want to do it.  Just let me know.

Also, here’s a video showing how to do something sweet with your microwave.

The planet Pandora from the new release Avatar is said to be so perfect people have admitted being plagued by depression and suicidal thoughts at not being able to visit the planet.

“When I woke up this morning after watching Avatar for the first time yesterday, the world seemed grey. It just seems so meaningless.”

The Auburn Hills red wings?

January 17th, 2010 by General Tso

Well its looking like the Red wings might not be playing at the joe next season. They’re in negotiation to start playing at the palace of Auburn hills. The story here explains how the eventual goal is to build a new stadium for the wings and pistons to play in. Neither team can afford to build a new stadium downtown on they’re own. This could make it a blast to take the hour and a half ride to see the wings

New TMV info

According to this:

The Mars Volta will be road testing their new album at Friday’s Big Day Out. But there is little chance you’ll recognise it when it finally makes its way into record shops.

As Mars Volta guitarist and band leader Omar Rodríguez-López explains over the phone from Belgium, he composes and discards albums at a startling rate.

Since the release of 2009’s Octohedron, he has already written and binned two albums worth of material.

But he might just have something that will make its way onto their 8pm main stage slot at Auckland’s iconic summer festival, just before the headlining act Muse.

“In between every record there’s an unreleased one,” Rodríguez-López said. “Once I did De-Loused in the Comatorium I recorded one record and that didn’t feel right. After Frances the Mute I recorded one-and-a-half.

“It happens all the time, composing, recording, all that fun stuff, you can’t really stop it. I record bits and pieces everywhere; I’ve recorded in New Zealand, I’ve recorded a lot in Australia and recorded in Japan.

“Now I’ve recorded another one and I’m handing that one over to (vocalist) Cedric (Bixler-Zavala) to start writing his lyrics and we’ll see how far this one gets.”

The wait begins again.
